the hands + heart of

The Wellnest

Skin care was always my first love, it was a rabbit hole that led me to massage therapy, energy work, and yoga teacher training. Additionally, throughout my career I’ve taken a series of trainings and workshops in different Eastern & Western medicine philosophies and modalities.

I wholeheartedly believe in looking into ones lifestyle, diet and stress levels to support optimal tissue health.

More about Micaela

I started working in the beauty industry in high school, apprenticing at the age of 16 under a reputable esthetician in my hometown of San Luis Obispo, California. At age 18 I enrolled and completed Esthetician School in Santa Barbara, California.

After completing esthetics school and starting massage school I moved to Maui, Hawaii and continued massage school there. That is where I started fully working in the field of beauty and wellness. Since those early days as a therapist I have worked in many different highly respected spa environments and have been the lead esthetician in two of them. During this time I worked with both conventional skin care brands like Jan Marini, IMAGE, Epicurean to Organic, plant based skin care lines like Laurel Skin, Naturopathica, Phyts, and Eminence Organics. I was trained in modalities such as microdermabrasion, oxygen facials and microcurrent. Over the years I've attended regular training staying relevant in both fields while honing my craft. Through all these years and training I have come to realize that my hands are my best tool.

I function under the belief that our body's ecosystem should be working together for optimal tissue health. Our skin is our largest organ and has the ability to tell our personal history and the current physical state of our internal body. I take a holistic and functional approach to my work and treatments. I work on supporting our body's natural resources with advanced massage techniques for the face and body such as Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Connective Tissue Massage; I also include some eastern and pacific modalities in my body work such as Tui Na and Lomi Lomi. As far as skincare, after years working with reputable lines, I refuse to work with anything but organic, sustainable, and non toxic products that deliver maximum results.
